This Privacy Policy explains how Message My People ("we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our text messaging service.
Information we collect
When you subscribe to receive text messages from us, we collect: your phone number, your first and last name (if you provide them), the date and time you opted in, and the IP address of your device at the time of opt-in. We also collect a record of every message we send to you and every reply you send back, including the date, time, and content.
How we use your information
We use your phone number and name to send you the promotional and informational text messages you signed up to receive. We use opt-in records to demonstrate consent if asked by carriers or regulators. We use message history to improve our service and to respond to your replies.
Sharing
We share your phone number with our SMS provider, Twilio, solely to deliver the messages to you. We do not sell, rent, or trade your information with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect against fraud or harm.
SMS-specific terms
Frequency: Message frequency varies. Most subscribers receive 2–4 messages per month, depending on your interactions with us and the campaigns we're running.
Costs: Message and data rates may apply, depending on your wireless plan. Standard messaging rates from your carrier apply to all messages, including replies.
Help and Stop: Reply HELP at any time to receive help. Reply STOP to unsubscribe and we will stop sending you messages immediately. You can re-subscribe at any time by texting START to our number or by re-submitting our opt-in form.
Carriers: Carriers, including but not limited to T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and US Cellular, are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Data retention
We retain your contact record and message history for as long as you remain subscribed and for a reasonable period after you unsubscribe so that we can honor your opt-out and resolve disputes. You can request full deletion at any time by emailing us.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe at any time by replying STOP. You can request a copy of the information we hold about you, or request that we delete it, by emailing support@messagemypeople.com. We'll respond within 30 days.
Children
Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated via text where possible.
